Ted takes pride in doing things with old world craftsmanship, using hand tools, and hand cut dovetails. His pieces are graceful, yet sturdy and built to last. Much care goes into the details and joinery. He specializes in mesquite hardwood but uses a variety of local and domestic hardwoods and occasional exotics. He sometimes mixes woods to create unusual and unique pieces. No two pieces are alike unless it is a matched set such as end tables. Sometimes he acquires whole logs of mesquite, pecan, and local woods, and cuts, selects, and dries the lumber in his shop for furniture and turnings.

To build a rocking chair takes about 180 hours from start to finish. This includes wood selection, cutting, glueing, hand sanding, polishing, and finally, putting a few coats of oil on to preserve and highlight the natural beauty of the wood. Available rockers fit the average person, seats are generous and scooped for comfort. They come in two thicknesses, a more delicate profile, and a thicker, more stout material. They can also be made larger for the big and tall fit, and constructed in your choice of hardwood. Hardwood lumber is selected for it's beautiful grain patterns. These rockers will make a statement in your room, comfort and beauty combined for a stunning piece of functional art.
